Internet Mailing Lists

Here are a couple of the longest standing mailing lists about the Internet:

  • Help-Net. The Help-Net mailing list provided help with the Internet, and had a helpful cast of old-timers that could provide answers to most Internet related questions, although like all help resources they prefered if you have first tried to search for the answer yourself
  • RFC-DIST. The RFC-DIST mailing list announces new Request for Comments documents.

Historical:

  • IMR. The Internet Monthly Report (IMR) is a monthly mailing list used to communicate Internet related issues to the Internet community. Archives were kept at ftp://ftp.isi.edu/in-notes/imr, and you used to be able to join the list by sending the following command in the body of an email to the address <majordomo@isi.edu>:
