Multiple IRC Connections

You can connect over the Internet to more than one IRC server, network, or channel.

  • Servers. You can change servers with the /server command
  • /server newserver

  • Networks. Many IRC clients enable you to join more than one network at the same time. You can then switch between channels on the same network, and between channels on different networks.
  • Channels. Many channel names are well known and can be found on more than one network. You can open the same channel on different networks, and participate in more than one conversation at once. Your messages will appear in the window that is currently highlighted.
