Charter - alt.support.abortion.moderated


I. PURPOSE OF ALT.SUPPORT.ABORTION 

1. The purpose of alt.support.abortion is to provide a discussion forum for Pro-Choice Advocates in matters related to:

a. Abortion services, procedures and accessibility.

b. Abortion laws, policies and practises.

c. Sharing of personal experiences.

d. Any Pro-Choice advocacy issues.


2. Alt.support abortion is NOT A FORUM for the following topics: 
a. Debating the morality of abortion services.

b. Denigrating and/or judging those who seek information or emotional support.


3. Alt.support.abortion is not a discussion group for known or self-proclaimed Pro-Life posters. It is suggested these Pro-Lifers create their own forum using alt.oppose.abortion as a possible name for their own newsgroup. 



II. CODES OF CONDUCT: 

1. Use the English language.

2. Be courteous, avoid abusive language.

3. Keep posts within the given range of acceptable topics.

4. Only reply via e-mail if the poster requests a private reply, or ask for permission of the posting party to do so.

5. When replying to someone's post, snip the parts you are NOT responding to and comment only on the parts left in. Avoid reposting irrelevant material.

6. Ensure attributions are left in place to avoid confusion over who wrote various passages.

7. Spam, personal insults, or flaming are strictly PROHIBITED.

8. Binaries are NOT acceptable.

9. Avoid cross-posting to other newsgroups.



III. ABUSE OF CHARTER RULES: 

1. For reporting abuse of charter rules, assistance can be found at: 
http://www.abuse.net/index.html 
In your report include the following: 
a. Copy of abusive post.

b. Copy of newsgroup charter and cite the infraction.

c. State briefly why you feel this post is in violation of the charter.

d. Send a copy of the report to the abusive poster.


2. Appeal of a report can be addressed to your own domain server. In your appeal, state why you feel you did not violate the Charter. Include a copy of the report claiming a violation has occured.
